The Howling Moves On
Coyote Salon is dissolving back into the mists of the mirage whence it came, and the elusive coyotes, never too numerous or easy to spot, are migrating once again. Yipping and howling as they go, their voices are now to be heard on another hilltop, not so close to the hot breath of the military-industrial machine that pollutes the air of the Old Pueblo.
Some people think coyotes can live anywhere, but that’s actually not true. Coyotes can live anywhere they want to, and there’s a difference. There’s a lot of places where coyotes don’t want to live. They might visit those types of places, but in the end, they always leave.
So many faces and voices have howled at the moon and at each other over the years here at the Salon. It existed for those whose voices longed to speak truth, and who longed to see others respond to that truth. On some nights, for some moments, the truth sang itself into the hearts of all. In a place distant from here, watch for the caravan of miracles, listen for the tinkle of bells, and hearken to the voices lifted in song. You will find it all anew, as it was before.
