First - a thank you. For over a year this Meetup group has had great success in bringing members together to share in all those things we are so passionate about. From games, movies, conventions and a large variety of social events and activities this group has stuck to the mission of providing a haven where the odd ones out can find themselves in, can share their non-mainstream interests, and help make the West Suburbs just a little bit more... strange. This wouldn't be possible without you, our awesome members.
While we are happy to keep all of our Meetup events free to attend, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone that running a Meetup group is not free. Each Meetup Group's Organizer pays Meetup Organizer Dues to run groups. Every six months Katrina, our primary Organizer, pays $72 to keep this group alive and kicking.
During the summer months a donation jar will be available at events like the Summer BBQ on July 20th and Board Game Night on July 27th if you would like to help support in paying this Meetup expense. Donations are not required by any means, but any donation is greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Katrina to help pay for Meetup expenses and help ensure that we are able to keep planning the events you all enjoy. If you are not attending the above mentioned days when a donation jar will be available, but would still like to help support the Meetup group please reply to this message or contact Katrina directly.
