The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes

This month's book is The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes!

"A grisly crime thriller meets sci-fi action meets historical fiction in a wildly inventive summer page-turner."—Entertainment Weekly

"A tremendous work of suspense fiction. What's more, it's a fabulous piece of both time-travel and serial killer fiction, using the intersection of those two themes to explore questions of free will, predestination, and causality in a mind-melting, heart-pounding mashup that delivers on its promise."—Cory Doctorow, Boing Boing

"I loved THE SHINING GIRLS. It really is a new kind of thriller, sitting somewhere between The Time Traveller's Wife and The Silence of The Lambs. A dark, relentless, time-twisting, page-turning murder story guaranteed to give you heart palpitations. It shines."—Matt Haig, author of The Radleys

Can't wait to read this one!

It is unfortunate that I will be unable to join you guys after all... I have successfully achieved and been cast in a role in the Musical Play "Monty Python's SPAMALOT"

Performing in July, but rehearsals are every M-F 7-11pm, so I am canceling my RSVP.

If I am not needed at the rehearsal on this date, I will show up, but I have yet to know if I am needed.

The reason: we have had people actually break legs, arms, fingers, wrists, ankles, and - last autumn... a JAW BONE right down the middle.

Instead, we say "Have a good show, be in good voice, remember your core"

Yeah, sorry about that. I think we forgot that Quigley's does live music on Thursdays. It's a huge draw.

For a Thursday evening, the place was packed, standing room only, with a band so loud, I left early. Nothing negative at all against anyone or this group, just seemed bad timing to be in the bar. Sorry if this seems like a complaint. It's directed to the bar, not to the group.

Glad some of the group members were able to talk before the band started playing.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
