Calling all Photographers, Artists, Videographers, Writers and Creatives!

Join us for a Creativity Workshop in April!

Banafsheh Ehtemam, documentary and fine art photographer will be our guest speaker.

Banafsheh is an explorer, artist, educator and curator. She is also the founder of the Boston Photography Center. Her impressive experience includes working as a National Geographic documentary photographer on assignments that have taken her from the borders of Iran and Iraq to the Amazon. In this special workshop topics that she will cover include:

1. You - your view. What you 'see' doesn't mean that is what you get and vice versa. Did you really want to create that and if yes, why?

2. Knowledge of being certain. Before you go on a shoot do your homework.

3. What is good and what's not good. You ended up with 5000 photos yet you have no idea what's good.

4. Post production, pre-production. What can be corrected and where you are out of luck.

5. My image. Your image. Competition is good but how do you know which ones to enter your work in?

6. How to see things and what you should see. Angles, proportion, style...

7. Money. The value of time, investments.

8. Dignity. What to shoot, what not to shoot.

Great news! It looks like we are going to be successful in having Banafsheh lead a photographer mentoring group here in Nashua. The group will be limited to 7 people, so there will be opportunity for more individual attention. It will be meeting twice per month in a location yet to be determined. If you think you may be interested in this fantastic opportunity, send me a message via Meetup. I will then give you more details.

I do not have a manual setting so not sure it will work, I am willing if there is space…I wouldn't want to take space away from someone with a "real" camera…just let me know…thanks for arranging this!

Hi Lisa - the mentoring sessions are run as a group review meeting. You will not bring your camera unless you need to ask a question. Shooting will be on your own time. You can shoot with a DSLR, film camera, tablet or phone!

Very good and a different, experience than I anticipated. She really wanted each of use to show more personality in our own photos, more like art than documentary.

Banafsheh gave a very interesting perspective that your photographs should talk about you... Thank you!

Thank you Banafsheh for sharing your time and talent with us... it was positively delightful. And sans-projector none the less! What is art, what is success, what is authenticity - food for thought indeed!

My amateur photography skills doesn't extend beyond my iPhone. But Banafsheh was enlightening, engaging, and very motivational on subjects that extend beyond photography. Great speaker!

Great speaker…got me thinking: What do I want to do? Who am I and how do I want to express that in my photography/design? THANKS!

What treat Banafsheh was! She reminded me how important it is to express yourself in your art. There is much to do before you even THINK of sitting down to your computer. What a great inspiration! Thank You!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
