Loved the location of it. As for the eldery guy who spoke over English Only....love his passion but I wish he kept it short and to the point. It's sad that we had to turn away over 300 people who wanted to witness history, maybe it should have been at the "1921 Hall" in order to have more people in......just a thought. *shrugs* By the way........can we have this again? ;)
I am so happy to have been a part of this great event. I brought 2 friends, and we all loved it. Just one teeny tiny thing that made me nervous: the man who chose a terrible moment to speak waaay too long about voting against English only. We didn't want to miss one single thing and thought he'd never stop talking. Other than that, it was wonderful. Thanks to The Belcourt and all the folks who made it possible.

Nashville Community Organizers group originated as part of the Obama campaign in 2008. In January 2009 we helped defeat the English-only campaign in Nashville.
Since 2009, our members have gone on to do amazing things - one was elected as the first Hispanic Metro Councilman, a couple others also were elected to the Metro Council, several went on to lead the Tennessee Democratic Party, one is now working for Obama for America in Chicago, several have been elected as Chairs of their county Democratic parties, and many others are leaders of progressive community groups in Nashville and surrounding counties. We now serves as a clearinghouse for Progressive groups and events in the Nashville area, providing our members opportunities to go out and get involved in a variety of groups.
NCO is a group that believes in bringing about change to Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Will you join us and help make that belief a reality?
