Magdeburg Flood Recovery Benefit Concert

In June 2013, Nashville's German sister city experienced the most severe flooding in its modern history, leaving $310 million in damages to the city’ public infrastructure. Following the Nashville flood of 2010, the citizens of Magdeburg raised over $6,000 for Hands on Nashville through a jazz benefit concert. Inspired by this creative response to the Nashville flood, this community concert for Magdeburg will feature professional classical musicians performing works by Magdeburg's most prominent native composer Georg Phillip Telemann as well as other vocal and instrumental selections by Bach, Fauré, and Britten. Free admission but donations will be accepted at the door. Also, go to www.scnashville.org for instructions about contributing on-line.

I hope to see you there!

A big disappointment in the turnout. I am glad that my friends in Germany were not here to see how few people turned out. I am almost embarrassed. I had expected more of the Nashville community overreaching our German sister city. Oh well.

Just realized today was Titans home game. East Nashville will be cut off from the rest of the city. I'll have to miss.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
