THE RULES:

-Buyin is $20 cash, on arrival. **give to me discreetly, if anyone asks we're playing for fun**

-We will determine seating by drawing cards at the start. The player in position 1 is dealer

-Blinds start at $50 and $100, and raise every 15 minutes
-One rebuy is allowed until the end of the second blind level
-Cards and chips must be visible at all times
-If the dealer flips over a card, the card will become the first burn card. The player cannot keep it. If the dealer flips 2 cards while dealing it's a misdeal
-No string bets
-The minimum bet is the big blind
-Don't splash the pot, people need to see what you're betting
-Don't discuss your hand, what you folded etc., until the hand is over
-In the event that we reach the cutoff point of 6:30pm and there are 2 players left, they will split the pot according to what percentage chip value they have

didn't think play was very good, to many procedure missteps

Procedure missteps were mainly due to players complaining or taking 5 minutes to muck their hand. As Holly stated, we are at a business establishment not someone's house. The short timeframe and exponential blind structure are in place to accomodate the time allotted to our game per the businesses request. Clearly, the fastpace of this game is a different animal than a cash game or perhaps a deepstack tourney that you may find at a casino. Our tourney structure is more akin to a turbo for anyone who used to play online. Being a great poker player requires having the ability to adapt and overcome in the circumstance you are given. Simply put, if you don't like the way the game is played... find a different table. :)

Not calling anyone out directly, but much of the shared frustration was due to people taking up time on the clock with unneccessary complaints. It should also be important to note that our organizer is taking her personal time to set these up so we can have a game that is close by and occurs on a consistent basis. That is not easy. If anyone would like to have additional games that better accomodate different play styles, then perhaps they can open their house and organize a game with their desired rules. Rant over :)

The reason we have the number of chips we do is that we have a time limit to be out of Cabana by. They are nice enough to let us play there for free, with no minimum tab required, so I abide by their request to be finished by a certain time.
