"Mvx-ember": a Month of MvvmCross Learning

For the next couple of meetings and in between, I’d like us to focus our collective brainpower on mastering Stuart Lodge’s MvvmCross (Mvx) framework.

It's taken about six months to reach this conclusion, but I'm convinced MvvmCross is a crucial tool for Xamarin developers to build well structured, maintainable, cross-platform solutions, and I feel we'll be well served by digging in.

For this “swarm” to be effective, we’ll need a way to collaborate and share our experiences between meetings. Inspired by our pals at NashFP, I’ve created a Google Group. You can jump on here - https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/nashville-xamarin-mobile-developers.

Join us on the 19th (third Thursday) to kick things off. We'll also have the usual food, drinks, Xamarin news and opportunities for some show and tell.

Loose agenda for tonight’s meeting. 6:00 - 6:30pm: Food, drink, hangout
    6:30 - 6:45pm: News
6:45 - 7:15pm: Group discussion about Mvvm, MvvmCross experiences, ideas for group learning, etc.
7:15 - 8:15pm: Watch Stewart’s NDC 2013 session“Stuart Lodge: Sharing C# across Windows, Android and iOS using MvvmCross”.
8:15 - 8:30pm: Set goals for the month and next meeting

Please yell if you’d like time to show off an app, have alternate idea, or anything else.

Awesome plan! I've really been wanting to dive into MvvmCross for our app, but that's something we'll work on in v2.0. It'll be nice to get some hands-on work in the meantime.

Same here, Chris. I met Stewart at Evolve and saw the potential, but timing was bad for our project, too. Can't wait to master this stuff.
