2013 TSRA ROLL AND PADDLING PRACTICE SESSIONS – TSU POOL!!
YOU WILL NEED A NEOPRENE SKIRT FOR YOUR WW KAYAK OR SEA KAYAK IN THESE SESSIONS.
What: TSRA will again utilize the pool at Tennessee State University for winter pool practice. These pool sessions will be open to all TSRA members. We will be providing informal instruction in various paddling related skills on different nights to those interested: Rolling your boat, bracing, strokes, safety and rescues, conditioning, and GAMES!
If you aren’t interested in instruction, then come and practice your own roll! FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT JACK LYLE ([masked] OR [masked]).
Where: The Tennessee State University Aquatic Center, located next to the main gymnasium of the Howard C. Gentry Athletic Complex. Turn into this facility off of Dr. Walter S. Davis Boulevard. Hey all, your skirt needs to be a form fitting skirt, made to keep the water out of your boat when you roll. It should not, in most cases have zippers, suspenders, or easily become detached from your boat or from you.
Your boat should be a rollable boat: whitewater kayak, sea kayak, whitewater canoe....(if you paddle a ww canoe, you already know you won't need a skirt)
February 1
Each night after Roll Sessions we meet at Flying Saucer to unroll and unwind and share our tales of the evening's events. We'd love to see you there.
