Come join us for a beautiful moonlight paddle and bonfire. Bring a stick of firewood, bring a snack or a meal. I will bring some hotdogs, marshmallows and roasting sticks. Feel free to bring something to share if you like. And of course, bring a beverage. We'll sit by the fire and tell ghost stories, brainstorm for 2013 paddles, and have a great time.
As we move into the Fall months, with earlier sunsets, cooler air, windier conditions, and cooler water temperatures, the remaining Percy Priest Paddles will be for experienced kayakers. You must have paddled at least 6 lake paddles, and experienced the exhileration of a couple of windy paddles, to rsvp for these trips. We will be paddling harder faster and further. A splash jacket and splash skirt would be good investments.
Getting there:
Take I-40 to exit #219 Stewart's Ferry Pike
SOUTH on Bell Road about 3.4 miles (through 4 lights)
Watch for the brown "Hamilton Creek" sign
Turn LEFT into Hamilton Creek Park-drive to the Marina
Meet at the Marina
Mobile: [masked]
PFDs are required out and back.
Bring at least 2 head lamps and check your batteries. Also bring a strong light for inside your boat. Other lights on your boat are great additions, but, please remember to put the white lights up front and the red ones in the rear so as not to blind the paddler behind you.
Feel free to bring a snack and a drink to tie you over until dinner.
Plan, dress, and bring extra wear in your dry bag accordingly for the weather.
Bring water, and a jacket. NO cotton clothing. Bring an extra set of clothes in a dry bag.
Be prepared to paddle further and explore more of the lake.
Had a great time everyone! It was so nice in the light drizzle, being out on the lake at night was so peaceful and zen, bonfire and hot dogs (or not dogs for some) and ginger bread was great too. Water was so calm, so serene. Nice to meet everyone, and thanks Deb for putting this together! I'm really looking forward to getting a few more paddles in if the weather is right!

What a fun and beautiful evening! Even though there was a light drizzle the whole evening we were all prepared to enjoy the evening and the paddle. Great bonfire and cookout and great company. Great to see you again Jonathan. It was nice to meet you again Adam, welcome to Paddle Adventures. And Gary and Doug it's always a pleasure to have you on our Tues night "cruises". I hope to be able to post another paddle before the season end. Watch for it!
