Ranger Ponda at Long Hunter State Park will be teaching another Orienteering class and this time it is on SATURDAY! The last session was strictly a classroom lesson, but this time we will get out in the field.
Technology has made navigation easy – and now compass skills are becoming a thing of the past. Learn to use a compass to find your way as we have a lesson and navigational games. *Meet at Area 2 picnic shelter.
Directions to Area 2/Couchville Lake parking lot:
Enter Long Hunter State Park at the main park entrance (2910 Hobson Pike) and then take the first left (which is Area 2) and proceed to the parking lot beside Couchville Lake.
The park has 18 compasses for use in the class, but if you want to bring your own, you can. If more people than that attend, folks will be paired up to share a compass. The class should run about an hour.
For further directions or park information, call the park office at[masked]-2422.
