Lecturer, full-time, one-year temporary (non-tenure track) faculty position.
Able to teach production, technical, and theoretical courses for New Media Communication. Teaching will focus on content strategy, creation, and management.
Excellence in teaching is expected for all positions. MTSU seeks candidates committed to using integrative technologies in teaching.
Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of recent professional experience in developing and implementing new media projects and content such as websites, social media, and mobile applications.
Expertise in content strategy, creation, and management as they relate to new media.
Familiarity with current industry tools, processes, methodologies, standards, and practices.
Portfolio of relevant work.
A bachelor's degree or better in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications Successful college teaching experience.
Extensive professional experience in new media communications.
An advanced or terminal degree in the field.
Working knowledge of the following:
? Social media implementation and management in an organizational setting with sites and tools such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, HootSuite, Sprout Social, etc.
? UX & UI design, including flat and responsive design, for web and mobile platforms.
? Production of new media content including text, image, sound, and video.
? Reporting and analytics (Google, etc.)
? Search Engine Optimization
? Online tools such as Basecamp, Google Docs, Mailchimp, etc.
? Adobe Creative Suite.
? Current programming languages such as Python, Ruby on Rails and others.
