Native Plants, Botanical Art, and Stories of the Siskiyous

The Siskiyou Mountains are well known for their botanical diversity and number of endemic species, as  well as for spectacular plants like the California pitcher plant, Darlingtonia californica. Join Linda Vorobik, PhD botanist and botanical artist, as she takes us through a photographic journey, visiting several habitats of this amazing region. Linda will relate stories of the 2002 Biscuit Fire and aftermath, Darlingtonia fens, rare rockcress (Arabis) species, and of course, will share her botanical artwork and speak of the wildflowers and wild places that have been her muse.

Dr. Vorobik researches rockcress species (Arabis, Brassicaceae) and is Principal Illustrator for The Jepson Manual, second Edition (B. Baldwin, Editor, et al.). For more information and samples of her art, see

Linda’s art will be on display and for sale during her talk.
