Friendly Haven Rise Farm
The hive is an interconnected super-organism, a unique living being made of an entire colony. If you want to keep bees, it helps to understand the progression of roles each bee plays within the hive. Learn about these fascinating, generous little beings and their caring family relationships.
Hear what someone said about this class the last time we taught this:
"There are few times when I leave a workshop feeling like the information received is so essential that it will, in ways yet to be determined, change the course of my life. This was one of those workshops." -- Kathy Bash, green architect, Portland
All these classes have a natural perspective that embodies respect, kindness and sacredness of Life. Use your senses (and common sense) to understand what the bees are doing from season to season and learn ways to help bees thrive. These classes are good for new beekeepers and bee-friendly gardeners who want to care for bees in a non-conventional, organic and biodynamic manner. I'll also cover an embarrassing list of mistakes I've made over the years with the hope that you won't have to repeat these errors.
