Bee Hive Homes: Where Bees Like to Live

Langstroth, Top Bar, Warre hives and other interesting bee domiciles. Know what all the components are used for and how to care for each kind of hive. Choose the hive you want to use and be ready for the start of bee season.

Our natural perspective embodies respect, kindness and sacredness of Life. Use your senses (and common sense) to understand what they are doing from season to season and ways to help bees thrive. Good for new beekeepers and bee-friendly gardeners who want to care for bees in a non-conventional, organic and biodynamic manner. I'll also cover an embarrassing list of mistakes I've made over the years with the hope that you won't have to repeat these errors.

Jacqueline is a wonderful teacher---I'm so grateful she's willing to bring her show to town. I hope to take a class at her farm soon.

This looks absolutely wonderful! Unfortunately, I already have a commitment for that time, so cannot be there. Darn it...I love the fact that this is finally closer to me (right in Beaverton!) instead of having to go all the way up to Washington. Will these be repeated any time soon? I'm don't have real plans to have bees any time soon, but I think they make a wonderful contribution to nature! I'd love to learn more!

Colleenie, you might want to take the Saturday class that's the A to Z for keeping bees in a Top Bar style hive. Besides hives it also includes how to care for them, too. It is up at our farm which takes me about 50 minutes from Beaverton. Hope you can make it on Saturday March 30 at 10:30. See the Upcoming Classes for more info about it.

Colleenie, we just changed the date on the top bar class from March to April. Take a look at the calendar and see if any of those dates work better for you.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
