Somewhere inside all of us is a desire to connect with wild nature. Some of us are able to do that to our heart's content, but many of us can't for one reason or another. It can be too hard to find wild places, or we are too busy, or we have some irritations or fears about nature that keep us from enjoying it. This meet-up is about helping each other find new ways to deepen our connection with wild nature, to spend more time there and better quality time there. It doesn't matter what your basic interests are: birdwatching, photography, hiking, camping, wildflowers, tracking, foraging, homesteading, kayaking, or just plain enjoying nature. There are always skills and knowledge you can learn to feel more at home in wild nature and see, hear, and understand more of what's all around you.
This group is about sharing those opportunities to change our experience in nature. Its especially about supporting young families or people wanting to share with grandkids or nieces and nephews. There are so many kids that would love to be able to get off the trail and just play and explore in nature but have almost no chance to do that. So if this sounds like something you've been looking for, join in. We will have workshops and outings led by experienced naturalists and people that have spent their whole life in the woods. We will also have gatherings to share questions and experiences to develop community around our common love for nature. This group can go in many directions, and that evolution will serve the needs of everyone involved. So join up and let us know what you'd like to do in the group.
