Below is an announcement from a member Abby Wagner. I actually saw it in the paper and thought it would be an interesting program, but I'm not sure I will personally be able to make it. We forget how much of nature we have destroyed, as human actions are usually so incremental. There was a time when flocks of birds were so dense they would block the sun, be they flocks of Flamingos in the Everglades or even Much More massive, the Passenger pigeons. Hopefully we won't be looking back in 25 years and saying, "Remember bees and frogs and bats?", because soon it would then be dolphins saying, "Remember humans?"
"I'm writing to let your MeetUp group know about an event happening at the Wagner Free Institute of Science on January 30, 2014 at 6PM. Joel Greenberg, author, naturalist and founder of Project Passenger Pigeon, will present "Echoes of their Wings: The Life and Legacy of the Passenger Pigeon."
