DO NOT FOLLOW THE MAP Meet-up posted. It will send you to the middle of the woods and you will be lost. Follow the instructions and link under the address and map. It is Alan's job to get us lost, not Meet-up's.
Join Allan on a wild edible walk through field and forest in the beautiful Warwick park in northern Chester county. On this walk I will identify, and you can sample, a variety of edible plants; including cattail, chickweed, catbrier, wild onion, plantain, clover, garlic mustard, spice bush, etc. I will also identify a number a plants that will produce great fruit/nuts in the late summer and Fall including black walnut, shagbark hickory, raspberry/blackberry, wild grape, elderberry, etc). In addition I will identify a number of plants along the way simply because they are too beautiful to pass by without recognition.
The walk will cover about a mile across flat terrain. But there will be bugs, possibly ticks and some mud so I suggest insect repellent and good shoes.
I (Hugh) may or may not be there as it involves getting up early on a Saturday morning. This is against my religion but I will consult with my pagan priestess and see if I can get special dispensation. Alan is a very Knowledgeable Naturalist and knows more botanical stuff than me.
