Hi Hugh,

Wouldn't say I have enough experience to teach, but I have tanned about half-a-dozen hides, both wet-scrape and dry scrape.  I'd be happy to help your friend out if you can't find anyone with more experience.  At a minimum I can suggest good sources of information, tools etc. and go over the general process.  I made a portable PVC beam he's welcome to borrow as well.

Let me know if no one else steps up and we can talk about the details.

In the meantime tell him to start sourcing pig brains  Unless he's got the deer's or wants to do eggs or soap.  In Wayne his biggest issue will probably be smoking it without the Fire marshal dropping by.

Subject: [Nature-Studies] Hide Tanning

I have a hunter friend in Wayne, Pa who has a beautiful dear hide he just got and  wants to do brain tanning. Anyone experienced in brain-tanning want to do a work-shop for Nature Studies and help my friend out?  Best to call me for details,[masked]
