People who don't take themselves more seriously than they should! Since this is technically a hobby, I want to be able to enjoy myself and learn from more experienced people. I'm not interested in competition; I have to deal with enough of that at work!
As far as I'm concerned, all photography is cool. I enjoy nature photography the most because I love seeing beautiful things that are not man-made. Even though I'm not what someone would consider an 'outdoor' person, I do love being outdoors. My favorite time of year to get out and take photos is in the Autumn, when the air is crisp, fresh, and just a little bit brisk.
I have Nikon D7000 with several different lenses. My interest right now is in using a wide angle lens to take photos with a distorted perspective.
I've been serious for about 4 years. I'm pretty much self taught. Most of what I've learned has come from experimenting, looking at other people's photos, joining sites like The Mindful Eye, reading books and reading photogrphy magazines published in the U.K (they're the best)
Starved Rock, forest preserves, Fort Sheridan Beach, Botanic Gardens, Cantigny Gardens, Fox River Valley near Algonquin
I've been seriously interested in photography for about 8 years. I enjoy taking photos of different things but my heart is really into nature photos. There's nothing more beautiful to me than nature. What a gift we've been given!
I think the whole idea is great. It's fun to go out with other people who don't complain when you want to walk around to find the best angle and then take a million shots of the same subject.
