I have always gotten my best nature shots when someone who knew the places and times of the year, day, etc. led the group.
The way I see nature photography, especially landscapes, God paints the landscape and I record it.
Nikon D7000 for nature and wildlife photography.
I have a fair amount of past experience going back to film. Currently I am interesting in exploring nature photography again, expecially IL, WI, IN.
Illinois Beach State Park, Chain O Lakes, Indiana Dunes and the Sand Hill Cranes in Oct. (Indiana) Wisconsin Dells, not the commercial part (need a boat or canoe) I have a book by the Nature Photojournalist (name escapes me) who produced the photo book Brown County where he grew up. It lists all of the nature areas in the immediate area and what grows or crawls there. That is where I learned about the sand hill cranes that migrate through Indiana in Oct. the only place east of the Mississippi the roost by the 10s of thousands.
Experienced nature photographer, but new to digital nature photography. I used to shoot slides. Currently focusing on fine art photography, but miss the exchange with nature I used to explore.
