Hey there gang! Seems like in the virtual meetup there was a lot of people who might be interested in getting a D&D and/or other tabletop game going. Some people said they might also be interested if it was in a kid-friendly environment. So.... let's get a thread going of who is interested in what. Answer the questions below and feel free to add anything else you can think of.

1.) Name(s)
2.) Playing as a couple or solo?
3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)
4.) Location
5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?
7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?
8.) Anything else you'd like to add?

1.) Name(s)
Jessica & Adam

2.) Playing as a couple or solo?
Couple

3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)
Interested in D&D mainly, but open to other RPGs. Also open to hosting board game nights (like monopoly, Descent, Battle of the Sexes, etc).

4.) Location
Lewisville

5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
Yes. Seating is limited at our place, but if you're not picky, I would say we could fit 7-10 people fairly easy.

6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?
I would say that I've had "some experience" but Adam is probably in the "advanced" range, as he's ran his own campaigns before.

7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?
I would like to try my hand at DMing, but would probably start out with a pre-made game.

8.) Anything else you'd like to add?
Looking forward to getting a group or groups going!

1.) Name(s)
Gary and Rachel

2.) Playing as a couple or solo?
RPGs: If we can somehow convince Rachel that rpg's are not eye-drying, then couple. The more girls involved, the better chance we can pull Rachel to the dark side. Muhahaha... Otherwise solo. :(
M:TG and other card games: Couple

3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)
I'd be up to DM or play in an RPG, or get together for some M:tG nights.

4.) Location
North side of Grapevine, TX near Oak Grove Park.

5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
We'd be happy to host. Large house, pool table, etc. Have done parties for 40+.

6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?
Gary is advanced with bonus class levels in "able to talk to other humans." Rachel is a Noob and had a bad experience roleplaying once due to a fairly dry group.

7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?
Sure. Been years since I played D&D, last ran HERO System or WoD. End of the day, the story and the interaction is more important than the system.

8.) Anything else you'd like to add?
Need to be able to accommodate a 6yr old girl who might want to stay up and party but ought to go to bed by 8 pm.

1.) Name(s)
Ian

2.) Playing as a couple or solo?
Solo. I've been trying to get my wife to tabletop for a while now, but no luck yet.

3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)
Ideally, I would love Star Wars Saga edition, but open to any tabletop. I enjoy boardgames as well.

4.) Location
Euless, just off of 183 and 360

5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
I can host up to 6, 8 if people don't want elbow room.

6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?
I'd consider myself about halfway between noob and some experience.

7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?
I've attempted DMing once and wasn't very good. I think I need a bit more experience before I try again.

8.) Anything else you'd like to add?
Late night games don't work for me. My mind starts shutting off after 9, and my ability to roleplay decreases substantially.

1.) Name(s)

Paul, maybe Cathy

2.) Playing as a couple or solo?

Depends on the game

3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)

D&D. I would be interested in playing OD&D-1E-2E? (or clones) definitely not 3E or 4E or anything similar. I might be interested in a sci-fi game (traveler or similar).

Diplomacy - easy rules/tough strategy; takes all day if you play it in person; this is easy to do as play-by-email. One group I was in played by email for more than 5 years.

Cards - We primarily play double-deck pinochle but have been known to go for other games (hearts, canasta, oh hell, phase10, etc.). Its been 15 years since we played bridge. Party-pinochle works great for large groups.

Murder Mysteries (like 'How to Host a Murder', but we've played most of them already)

Cathy likes party games like Trivial Pursuit, Balderdash, Pictionary....

4.) Location

Keller-Wautaga-Colleyville (northeast Fort Worth, west of DFW airport, east of 35W))

5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?

Yes. #'s depends on the game, up to about 20

6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?

Paul - advanced, Cathy - some experienced

7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?

I would definitely DM a fantasy-style RPG or maybe a post-civilization game. When I DM, I use house rules that are closer to OD&D and 1E than anything else.

8.) Anything else you'd like to add?

1.) Name(s)
James and Jasmine

2.) Playing as a couple or solo?
Would depend on the game I guess

3.) Games interested in joining (i.e. RPGs and tabletops, boardgames, etc.)
I (James) would be very interested in playing D&D any version, and type of board game (fav. small world), and any type of dice type games and I will go ahead and include card game as well. Jasmine LOVES SORRY!!!! We also like a mean game of scrabble and any other couples board games. All cards games and etc.

4.) Location
Dallas, TX

5.) Would you be willing to host? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
I think we would be willing to host as long as no one has any problems with pets. (Dogs and Cats) Numbers would depend on game type but I am thinking 10 easily.

6.) What's your experience level (i.e. noob, some experience, advanced, lifer)?
James- Some expirence to Advanced..... Jamsmine- some expirence to advanced

7.) If playing a tabletop game, would you be willing to DM?
I would be willing to DM although I have never done it before.

8.) Anything else you'd like to add?
Really hoping to get in some fun/exciting adventures with our new group :)

1. Michael & Margaret (M&M)

2. Couple but usually with individual characters

3. Role-playing games and cooperative board games

4. Denton, Plano, Grapevine, Coppell (I live in Denton but will travel. The listed locations have nice places to play.)

5. Not at my my apartment but yes in library or game store, etc.
Number depends more than 6 players (not counting GM) for an RPG is too unwieldily (for me).
More than that could be a second group but would need another GM.
Board Games are different and players could easily break into groups. The more the merrier.

6. I have been playing RPGs since AD&D 2nd ed. was first released and almost immediately moved to 1st ed.
I also played/GM a few other RPGs (CHILL, Mythus, Lejendary Adventures, Tales from the Floating Vagabond....
Margaret played a few sessions as a child with her brother and has a year and a few months as an adult player.

7. I am willing to DM/GM or be a player. I am also willing to teach and/or learn with a new DM/GM.
Although if it's a game I'm not familiar with I need some prep time and players willing to learn with me.
I am currently reading RuneQuest 6th ed.

8. I am the organizer for 2 role-playing meetup groups:
Gygax (Roleplaying) Games Group
http://www.meetup.com... and the

Collin County Role Playing Gamers group
http://www.meetup.com...

Please stop by, look around, consider joining.

Good Gaming,
Michael
