NEC Spring Concert Series: Lipsitt conducts Verdi, Britten, Wagner & de Falla

It's time for the first FREE classical music concert for the spring season at the New England Conservatory of Music!

Tonight, guest conductor Steven Lipsitt, Music director of the Boston Classical Orchestra leads the NEC Philharmonia in a program of music from stage works by Britten, Verdi, Wagner and de Falla. The concert includes all of de Falla's Three Cornered Hat.  (Listen to excerpts below; the names in the list link to youtube performances of the works.)

Let's meet up at no later than 7:30pm, so the group can grab a bunch of seats together when the doors open, and then socialize before the concert.  We will sit in left-middle section of the balcony, since this affords a good view of the entire orchestra, (particularly good when a pianist is playing), is open to the ceiling, and is easy to describe and find, and it is relatively easy to grab a large block of seats there.

Directions to Jordan Hall:
The hall is located at the corner of Huntington and Gainsborough streets, about a block south of the Symphony T stop on the Green Line. It's also close to the Mass Ave station on the Orange line.  Look for the building with the YMCA sign on top of it as you walk down Huntington Ave--it's near that building. The main entrance is reached from Gainsborough Street.

Sure, Wagner was a highlight. On the other hand, Falla was charming. His music reminded me Spain.

Very happy that meetups for concerts @ NEC have started up again. Strange that there was such a small audience this evening. Wagner was the standout this time. Thanks, as always, Will for organizing.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
