Thursday nights at the ICA are free 6:30-8:30 and there is a cool jazz band outside near the water.
Beer, Wine and food is available as well and given the stadium seating, this is as much of a place to gather and just chill as it is a social event.
Jazz and Contemporary art are nerdy if they're free I think.
Harborwalk Sounds 2013
Berklee College of Music boasts some of the most talented students, alumni, and faculty at work in music today and there’s no better place to hear them than a summer evening at the ICA. Enjoy the best of both institutions with HarborWalk Sounds, a free series of concerts featuring rising stars in jazz, world, Latin, and more. Relax on the harbor with a refreshing drink from the Water Café and hot sounds from the coolest music school around.
Playing that night: Family Photo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du37UbCS70Y
Family Photo takes complex vocal harmonies and arrangements and weaves them into popular song structures. The group seamlessly glides between genres, incorporating musical styles from jazz and pop to the more obscure corners of rock and neoclassicism. They tie it all together into an energetic performance, creating a sound that speaks to the band's relentless search of uncharted, sonic territory.
