NEC Fall Concert Series: Loebel + Sibelius & Ives

It's time for the next FREE classical music concert for the fall season at the New England Conservatory of Music!

Tonight, David Loebel takes to the stage to conduct Ives: A Symphony: New England Holidays, and Sibelius' Symphony No. 7 (Listen to excepts below; the names in the list link to youtube performances of the works.)

For more information about this concert, go to http://necmusic.edu/nec-philharmonia-loebel.

Let's meet up at 7:15pm, so the group can grab a bunch of seats together when the doors open at 7:30, and then socialize before the concert.  We usually end up sitting in left-middle section of the balcony, since this affords a good view of the entire orchestra, (particularly good when a pianist is playing), is open to the ceiling, and is easy to describe and find, and it is relatively easy to grab a large block of seats there.

Directions to Jordan Hall:
The hall is located at the corner of Huntington and Gainsborough streets, about a block south of the Symphony T stop on the Green Line. It's also close to the Mass Ave station on the Orange line.  Look for the building with the YMCA sign on top of it as you walk down Huntington Ave--it's near that building. The main entrance is reached from Gainsborough Street.

Thanks Joel for posting the drinks after the concert! I greatly enjoyed the conversations! On this date in 1917, Finland declared independence. Therefore...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8iZWrzHl_I

Kirk: Sorry for the partial message. I thought the return would just add a line. I am glad we were able to get together. We are collectively an interesting group and I always come away better educated. It was also very nice to get to know and the others. Alas, I will at my corporate headquarters next Wednesday so you will have to carry on without me. See you hopefully in 2 weeks. Joel

In honor of today (Dec 5) being the 79th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition, I will be going out after the concert for a drink and something to eat. Please consider joining me / us. Joel

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
