Announcing a new Meetup for Nerd Fun - Boston!
What: A Christmas Story! Special Engagement @ The Brattle
When: December 20,[masked]:30 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meetup Description: From the site BrattleFilm.Org: http://www.brattlefilm.org/brattlefilm/movie_detail/081220.html
"There are no angels, virgin births, or reindeer with glowing red noses, but A Christmas Story is still the quintessential All-American Christmas tale (a fact confirmed by its constant 24 hour televised marathons). This is the movie that taught us to eat Chinese food on Christmas Eve, that neighborhood dogs will eat an unattended turkey, and that BB guns can, and will, shoot your eye out. Oh, and that sticking your tongue to a flag pole in winter is always, always a bad idea".
Price: Matinee tickets available for $7.50 at all shows. Tickets can be ordered online at http://www.brattlefilm.org/brattlefilm/movie_detail/081220.html
Has it really been 25 years since this movie came out??
The show is at 1:30 pm, so we should head in to get seats by 1:10 pm. Anybody know of a place in Harvard Square where we could go for brunch before the show in Harvard Square? Anybody know of a place where they could take reservations for, say, 20?
Where to meet:
T.J. Maher is 5 foot 7, with short brown hair, blue eyes, a "Hello My Name is T.J." nametag, and a red MEETUP sign on his black messenger bag. He'll be waiting in the lobby by 1:00 pm.
Directions by Car, From North or South:
Take Route I-93 to Storrow Drive and follow signs to Cambridge. Turn off at the Harvard Square exit. Turn right onto John F. Kennedy Street and cross the Charles River and Memorial Drive.Turn left onto Eliot Street, and left again onto Bennett Street. Continue past the Charles Hotel (on left), then turn left onto University Road; the entrance to University Place parking garage will be on your immediate right.
Parking at University Place Parking Garage:
University Place Parking Garage is at http://www.harvardsquare.com/Home/Services/University-Place-Garage.aspx
"Enter after 5:00PM Mon-Fri / All day on weekends, 0 to 1 hour $4.00, 1+ Hours $8.00 flat fee with validation, $12.00 flat fee without validation" ... so it will be $12.00 for the day. With the MBTA now charging $7.00 a day this isn't that much of a difference.
