Reviews are mixed regarding their brunch, mostly how the high price doesn't make it a good value, and the service can be slow, but it's right around the corner from where we need to be at 1:00 pm to grab seats for the 1:30 pm showing of A Christmas Story. And they take reservations. I didn't think Howard Johnson's did. Ah, well. Ad-hoc reviewers do seem to recommend the Nutella & Banana Crepes.

If you are going to be parking in University Park Parking Garage:
Take Route I-93 to Storrow Drive and follow signs to Cambridge. Turn off at the Harvard Square exit. Turn right onto John F. Kennedy Street and cross the Charles River and Memorial Drive.Turn left onto Eliot Street, and left again onto Bennett Street. Continue past the Charles Hotel (on left), then turn left onto University Road; the entrance to University Place parking garage will be on your immediate right.
University Place Parking Garage is at http://www.harvardsquare.com/Home/Services/University-Place-Garage.aspx
"Enter after 5:00PM Mon-Fri / All day on weekends, 0 to 1 hour $4.00, 1+ Hours $8.00 flat fee with validation, $12.00 flat fee without validation" ... so it will be $12.00 for the day. With the MBTA now charging $7.00 a day this isn't that much of a difference.
