Geek Craft: First general crafternoon of 2014

It's been a while since we have had a geek craft event, so we thought we would start the year off right with a general crafternoon.  Bring any project of your choosing and work on it with the company of your fellow geeks.  Knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, drawing, beading, doll house making, who knows what you might be working on, but it's probably unfinished at this time.

Nerd HQ's weekly Dinner & Death event is also happening this evening.  We will be watching American Horror Storey: Coven & Helix.  If you are planning on staying for the dinner portion of that event, please RSVP separately into that event itself once it is posted. (CLICK HERE TO RSVP FOR DINNER AND DEATH)

For a first timer I felt very welcome and not overwhelmed.

Nice meeting you all (again, in some cases). It was a productive afternoon. I thought I would mention that the Fraser Valley Beaders (http://crafter.org/beading/fvb/) are meeting next Sunday 1-4 at the New Westminster Public Library. There's no dues and all are welcome. We're still meeting even though the website is out of date.

Someone was wondering what I do with my knots. This (http://chineseknotting.org/) and this (http://knottynotions.com). 8-)

This in particular might be relevant: http://knottynotions.com/fantastic/hellspark

Um I've never gone to one of these things before. I can just... show up with my knitting??? Like there's no secret club handshake I need to rehearse beforehand?

For sure! You'll recognize us because we're the bunch of people sitting around in geeky tee shirts and knitting, and the rest of the cafe is populated by old Italian men playing cards. ;) No handshake required!
