Geek Craft: Arm Knitting

Have you seen the pictures of arm knitting floating about the internet?  Well, arm knitting is really fun and super easy (even if you have no idea how to knit)  For Geek Craft this week we are going to make an arm knitted infinity scarf.

Materials Needed:

• 2 skeins/balls of yarn - preferably a thicker yarn or something variegated

• 2 arms

• scissors

• 30-60 minutes of time

As always, don't feel that you need to work on the project of the day, just come out an work on your own thing in the company of your fellow nerds.

Nerd HQ's weekly Dinner & Death event will also be happening this night, if you plan on staying for at least the dinner portion of the evening, please RSVP separately in that event (CLICK HERE)

I *might* have bought yarn today like Mel had, to make yet another one. :)

I tried to add a picture (a bunch of times) but it didn't work. So, if a bunch of the same picture eventually show up..whoops! I went home and made another one! Love it. Thanks, Sam.

A maybe really. It turns out the VCON AGM is at 2pm. I was hoping to drop in to see what's it's like. However, the venue is still TBD so if it's turns it's somewhere in the wilds of Surrey or Richmond, I will be coming. I am curious about this "arm knitting" thing.

(If I can't afford to get some yarn, I'll watch while working on other projects and laugh along with the IT crowd.)

Hi Bo, you can always try it with regular yarn to learn the technique, I made my first arm knitted scarf with thinner yarn and it did work out (technique wise)

Haha that is awesome ... The Italians are going to think we have finally lost it completely lol. ;) They won't know what to make of us all knitting with our arms!
