Fontana Friday: Serenity

During the Summer we've decided to watch various movies for our Fontana Friday events until the fall shows start (Look out for Agents of Shield and Gotham come late September), in the meantime, movies!

It has come to our attention that CSTS (Can't Stop The Serenity) didn't happen in Vancouver this year, so many of us missed out on the annual viewing of the movie Serenity.  We've been asked by a few of our members if we can remedy this, and we said YES!

Serenity Synopsis: A band of renegades on the run in outer space get in more hot water than they anticipated in this sci-fi action-adventure adapted from the television series Firefly.  Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family--squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal.  When Mal takes on two new passengers--a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic sister--he gets much more than he bargained for.

• If you have never seen Serenity before, you are in for a treat!  If you have seen Serenity, you know how awesome it is, but please remember, that while the movie is on, respect your fellow nerds and geeks, please keep any chattering or excitement down to a minimum or whisper until the movie is over.  Then you can be a loud as you want (within reason, lol)

This event is scheduled to start at 6:30pm. This allows time for people to arrive, mingle and order food and drink (if they wish).  The movie will start shortly after 7pmish. There is no cost to join the event, but we do ask you to show respect to La Fontana Caffe where our events are held, so please don't bring in any outside food.

Stick around after the shows for some games or general geeky chatter or even karaoke.

We (Lydia and myself) are new to Vancouver, we arrived yesterday. We're a little late and are able to leave soon from the BC Place. We need to take the 135 bus along hasting. Could anyone help us out how much tickets cost and how we can get tickets? We have no cash yet and an ATM probably wont give us coins. Thank you, hope to see you all there soon. :D

I'm taking the 135 too. 2.75 for tickets, but I would get the 10 pack at a drug store somewhere near a (train) station.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
