Hi Tom (and the rest of Net2Camb)

Thanks so much for sharing this?opportunity?with us! Sorry I was unable to make it, but it definitely sounds right up my alley personally, and something that I think may be of interest to other Net2Camb group members. Are there any next steps or action items that you can report back to the group? Anything that we can get involved with to help out?

Thanks for organizing this important event and please don't hesitate to let me know how I can support you.

Best,
Claire

Hi folks,

Thought people on this list might be interested to hear that Aptivate is
hosting a CrisisCamp in Cambridge in our office space at the
Humanitarian Centre, Gresham Road, ?tomorrow from 10am. This is in
emergency response to the flooding in Pakistan. One of the main
objectives of the session will be to help Pakistan set up its own
CrisisCamp.

More info at http://wiki.crisiscommons.org/wiki/Cambridge

CrisisCamp is generally a bunch of people who get together voluntarily
to work on helping people in disaster situations, usually by using
technology solutions, e.g. openstreetmap, identifying missing people,
making low bandwidth websites, etc. Project managers, facilitators,
software and web developers, and social media users seem particularly
useful however so is anyone who can run errands and make coffee! All
welcome.

Aptivate got officially involved in supporting the CrisisCamp London
initiative in response to the recent Haiti disaster, because we thought
it was an interesting and Good thing.

We'll arrange some lunch for people who turn up!

cheers,
Tom.
