Introduction to DataStax and Cassandra

Cassandra is the most powerful enterprise ready real-time data platform available today. This DataStax presentation will cover the history, architecture, data model, some implementation examples, and what can be expected in the future.

John Glendenning - GM EMEA, DataStax

John leads DataStax's field operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa and has spent over 19 years within the enterprise infrastructure software and hardware industry for companies such as Citrix, XenSource, Platform Computing and Compaq. John has regularly executed within high growth markets primed for disruptive change and for companies that challenge conventional thinking with best of breed products.

 

Hayato Shimizu - Solutions Architect, DataStax

Hayato is a technical solutions architect for DataStax EMEA division. Prior to DataStax in May this year, Hayato architected and delivered a massively scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure for an IPTV platform by the largest independent broadcaster in the UK using Cassandra. He also had contributed to successful technical deliveries of large scale software/infrastructure projects at other organisations, including BBC, HSBC, AOL, and Citrix.

 

Developing a Data Access  Layer for Cassandra in Java

A case study on designing and implementing a data access layer for Cassandra in Java. General principles and code samples will be presented that extend and improve on the data access support found in the Hector client for accessing Cassandra from Java applications.

Eric Zoerner - Senior Software Developer , eBuddy

Eric has been a senior software developer at eBuddy for three years, working on eBuddy's XMS messaging platform with a focus on data management and contact discovery. Previously he worked on query engine development for GemFire data management platform at GemStone Systems (technology now acquired by Pivotal).
