Application behavior insights using Hadoop and Flume

John Bol will show how Info.nl uses Hadoop and Flume to gather all their relevant application logs and how they intend to make sense of them.

John Bol is a solution oriented, highly adaptable networking and systems specialist, working as an infrastructure consultant. John is looking into innovations regarding trend and system analysis to expand on what info.nl already knows from their monitoring tools.Info.nl is a full service internet agency that is specialized in connecting different customer touch points to a consistent online experience.

 

Within the eye of the Storm (Introduction to Storm framework)

Sjoerd Mulder from Science Rockstars will introduce you to Storm. Science Rockstars use Storm for their product PersuasionAPI, to do realtime machine learning on the data they collect. Storm makes it easy to reliably process unbounded streams of data, doing for realtime processing, what Hadoop did for batch processing. Storm was originally developed at BackType, a company that was acquired by Twitter last year which is currently using Storm internally. The session will be a brief introduction, explaining how Storm works with the help of a small example and finishing off with Q&A.
