Camping in Glencoe

Thinking of either camping in Loch Etive or by Kings Hotel. For this trip you will need your own tent etc, although I have some spares and cooking stuff.

Also go for a walk somewhere in Glencoe. If you've not been there before it really is beautiful.

Thinking some time in June but will decide date later after I see interest.

Good jolly outing and never thougt I'd cope as well as I did with 4 nutta's!....best 5 hours were with the dog (no dis-respect to the dog intended) as we scrambled up the nature reserve ...amazing place and loads to do...easily spend a week up there and loads of great walks and expeditions are there for the taking (if you stay out the coffee houses....and the boza for that matter)......great laugh and now I know that all wimmen snore (varying from loudly to extreme noise terror!)..although they try to blame it on me !......5 star rating from me and a real pleasure not having to drive either (or build a tent for that matter!) thanx to all for a top notch outing

Thanks Sarah , had a great time with you all, despite the lack of sleep due to too much talking & hilarity and the hard ground to sleep on, a sore throat from singing (doe a dear....., ) and shouting (coaching !!) at Andy Murray . Looking forward to next time?

Plan for this is to now try and have two nights camping however people are welcome to only come for one night if they can't manage the full weekend. Plan is to meet those who are coming at the Kings Hotel in Glencoe on the Friday, tbc. It is individual responsibility to provide equipment and arrange transport.

I have posted this trip to glencoe but it is only a suggestion, if coming you will have to sort your own transport and arrange your own equipment / share of equipment as i am taking no responsibility.

      June 8, 2013

  • Ross S.

Sarah...please confirm as I'd stay in the hotel....only £35 for single room..beats camping in the cold when you can have a few bevs, a roaring fire and a hot steak pie and chips! http://www.kingshousehotel.co.uk/?page_id=9

Date now confirmed! I propose camping beside Kings House Hotel as this is free and has lovely views over Glencoe. It also gives us access to the climbers bar at the hotel and toilets.

    Barbara do u have tent 2 share ?!!! :)

    May 27, 2013

    • Sue M.

I have a tent (possibly 2?) - belongs to a daughter. I don't know what to do with a tent and have no intention of ever using one, but if someone wants to borrow it and check all the bits are there...

Hi Sarah I may be interested. I walked the West Highland Way last year but due to my dog going lame was unable to walk the stretch between Bridge of Orchy and King's House, over Rannoch Moor. I would like to do it at some point so this would be an ideal opportunity. However June may not be too good for me because of work commitments. I shall wait to see when you arrange it for and see if I can fit in. So I will be a maybe :-).

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
