I'm a frontend web engineer who moved from Connecticut to the Bay Area two years ago with my now-fiancée. Long background in music, didn't see a future professionally; audio engineering degree (EE) from the University of Miami (Florida).
I started in acappella by singing in the group in highschool, eventually leading the group senior year. In college, I sang all 5 years in various groups, including everything from the top chorale in the school of music to a couple of casual all-male groups (a 5-piece casual jazz, a larger 12-piece pop acapella group).
Baritone, Lead... I'm not a natural bass, but I can get down to a G comfortably. I'm not a natural tenor, but I can hit a B or so in head voice.
I've sure sung with recordings, but not as much with a live group. I recorded the album for the 2003 Harmony Society collegiate champions, HEAT (http://www.barbershopwiki.com/wiki/HEAT), which gave me lots of time to work with the mixing and balance of achieving afterglow.
Absolutely! I'm planning on being in Berkeley for the June 17th rehearsal.
Depends on the day of the week. Pretty much everything except for gangster rap and polka.
