Purgatory Creek hike and San Marcos River cool down

This is another fabulous trail system in San Marcos. I am not as familiar with the trails in this park...last time I went, I walked 3 miles. Will be shooting for that distance, but could be a little less or a little more. This trail system does not have a pond or creek, so bring plenty of water for you and your pup (maybe enough to wet him/her down a couple of times while hiking). The trails are a little more rugged than Spring Lake, but not terribly challenging. We'll head over to the river after the hike to cool off. Bring a lunch if you would like to picnic at the river.

Yes! And bring water shoes/swim shorts if you would like to join in the river fun. Feels so great after walking.
