San Antonio Big Dawgs have invited us to join them in this awesome meetup. I've copied the following from their meetup:
Big Dawgs "TUBING" Bash of the year!
Come and join the Big Dawgs for some tubing fun in the sun at our favorite tubing spot! We will meet at the LoneStar Float House and and rent our tubes there and they will shuttle us and our dogs up river for a one or two hour float.
WE WILL BE FLOATING THE TUBE CHUTE!!!! USE CAUTION. YOU CAN WALK AROUND!!!
Meet up @ 9:45am and we will begin promptly at 10:00AM. We will not have phones on the river so please be on time! After all this river water, dog tubing fun we will meet up on the upper deck at Lone Star Float House and grab a bite to eat. They have great burgers and dogs. No, not our dogs, hot dogs! 12:00pm-1:00 pm meet up for lunch @ Lone Star Float House, 7430 River Rd. New Braunfels TX 78132

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOUR DOG LIKES TO TUBE OR EVEN SWIM THEN HERE IS THE THE PLACE TO TEST THE WATERS!!! THAT'S RIGHT, BRING YOUR DOG DOWN TO THE WADING AREA AND LET THEM PLAY ALONG THE RIVER WITH A LONG LEAD ATTACHED. THIS WILL BE A LEASHED EVENT! Harnesses always work great![;)]
One Dog Per Owner!
For those family members that don't want to float the river they can hang out on the deck or near the water and catch some sun. There are picnic tables, with umbrellas, in the water.
Attention: Just tell them your a BIG DAWG!!! We will do the two hour float. There is no better way to cool off! Water is 62degress and on a hot day it feels great! So we will start this float @ 10:00am! Don't be late!!!
Some dogs may not like to be in a tube. If you think you might have a problem, buy a life jacket (vest) for your pooch and take your leash. Flip the tube over with the bottom side up and let your pooch sit on top. With a vest and a leash we can float them down the river with us. Some areas will be low enough we can walk for a few minutes and let them rest on the river.
S.A. Big Dawgs is not responsible for your dog(s) in any regard or manner. Not all dogs are suited for river tubing (and for some humans as well, as mentioned above)... there are both inherent and unknown risks and dangers on the Guadalupe River...these include but are not limited to injury or loss of life to you or your dog. Know your dog's abilities and make your decisions accordingly... Please note: You will need plenty of sunscreen and drinking water on the river. SUN BLOCK or SUN SCREEN (for your dog also! If they require sunscreen) should be applied both BEFORE and DURING tubing trip or any time you are in the sun for extended periods. It's a good idea to bring a long sleeve white T-shirt and put it on to prevent sunburn. Please have drinking water for you and your dog as you will both need to stay hydrated.
Please be sure to take towels and a dry set of clothes for the drive home :o) Words of advice.... when floating the river, make sure any eyeglasses have a float-ee attached, make sure your cash is in a zip loc baggie, tucked deep into a pocket, under a ballcap, or inside a shoe, and people should probably avoid using their dog(s) leather collars and leashes for this - as they can mold with 'nasty' water......hmmm....maybe bring sunblock, ballcap, lip balm, drinking water and a good attitude! Thanks VA - We still love you! :oP
