Hey all! Ever heard of Wallyball? It's a twist on volleyball played inside a racquetball court. You have a net stretched across the court and you can play the ball off the walls, cieling, fellow players' heads and have a blast. The cool part? We play inside the YMCA. That means rain or shine, we got games going on. No skeeters chasing us away when we're just starting to have fun either. Come and join us.
Wallyball is simple. The majority of volleyball rules apply, plus a bit more rules to learn on what walls you can use and when the ceiling is out of bounds. You can get those rules here: http://www.volleyball.org/rules/wallyball_rules.html
This is a fun team sport and we welcome new players to join us. Big thing to remember is we stress teamwork and try to use all three hits per side to encourage/develop good ball control skills.
Usually 2 courts available and our pickup games are every Mon/Wed/Fri night 7pm til close.
The Merrimack YMCA charges $10 per guest for non-members. I've heard a cool rumor though that guests are free on the first week of each month!
There are often promotions for new members to join. If you were a member of the Nashua Athletic Club, AKA IM Fitness, they are giving you a special refugee offer to become a member with NO joining fee! Can't beat that - and membership gets you into the Nashua YMCA as well, to double your benefits.
