July 22, 2011
I began hiking in 09, Mount Washington being my first hike! Was immediately "hooked" and completed "the 48" in July, 2012 I consider myself a moderate hiker and usually finish hikes a bit under "book time." I think my hardest hike was up the Head Wall in Tuckerman Ravine during a hard rain. I have never organized or led a group hike.
My favorite and greatest challenge was my first hike - I hadn't a clue - up the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail to Lake of the Clouds Hut and Mount Washington. I didn't think I would ever be able to move or walk again for the rest of my life. But looking out toward the sunset that evening, getting up and feeling totally renewed the next morning, was simply a thrill I shall never forget.
I enjoy hiking in all seasons, but would not be prepared to spend an overnight out there in extreme snow and cold.
Having just completed "my 48" I have no current goal other that to continue hiking on a regular basis.
Monday through Saturday.
I live in Manchester and enjoy hiking with others.
Fun group. Enjoyed the hike and the companionship.
