i am getting back into it after a few years of involuntary abstinence (North Dakota is not a good place for hiking). My experience is moderate and includes backpacking and some camping. I haven't done anything awfully challenging, but mostly stuck to moderate terrain.
The greatest challenge was walking up the Zugspitze (10,000 footer in the Alps). I have to admit that I had to turn back about 1/2 way though. (One has to know their limits). I think my favorite was the Wicklow Way in Ireland.
Yes, although obviously not everywhere. I gave up quite a bit of my overnight equipment (tent etc.) when I moved to the city, but I still have quite a few things that come in handy on day hikes.
This varies greatly, but usually Thursday and Friday are best.
Just moved to the area from North Dakota.....
