I love being outside in the snow, trees, mountains working up a sweat. I participate in the AMC , YMCA Adventure group and personal friends hikes/ski events. It would be fun to meet your group. Have fun!
Quite experienced. One of the most challenging was hiking up a chute at Tuckermine's with a pack and snowboard. Hiking at elevations over 8500 feet with a full pack is also strenuous.
I love sharing Welch Dickie with everyone. It's not difficult for most people and it offers great views, is within an hours drive and has lots of interesting features. Hiking in winter above tree line in freezing, windy, icy conditions is most challenging.
I hike all seasons. Have lots of appropriate layered clothes, over boots, crampons, snowshoes, skis, poles, ice ax.
Have done the 4000ft peaks. No real goals..just try to hike more! Isolation and Carrigan were both fogged in when I summited. I'd like to try them again.
Hopefully it will be any day sometime soon. I'm working full time again so weekends are my only "real" free days.
Scott is very organized and puts a lot into his events. Everyone will enjoy his easy, friendly manner. All levels of hikers are welcome, although we tend to be a bit on the quick side!
