August 29, our 7 am group hiked the Falling waters trail to Lafayette and Lincoln and descended Skookumchuck. great weather for this maximum view exposure hike. Footing was good the whole trip and mostly dry.

It's been 3 years since I hiked Falling Waters- a favorite trail of many, but long enough that it was like a new trail to me. I was taken back when we missed the very first water crossing. The trail is well blazed up to this point and across the brook, but apparently the most important blaze to cross probably was blown down. We followed a bushwhack for a few minutes to a dead end and quickly turned around to familiar ground and checked for tracks and the continuing trail.

There are tracks everywhere most probably from tourists looking at the falls, so look carefully across the water for the trail.

Trails were well marked after that and everyone paid attention to what was coming up next- so I would't consider it a wrong turnbiggrin
