Thanks to all who attended the meetup on Monday! Below is a recap of the meeting. Hopefully we will see you all next time!
Best Practices & Innovations:
Ashley Molloy and Ashley Lojiko, One Pica, discussed managing SEO from the basics of living with Google Caffeine and Panda to the more arcane - how to handle multiple store issues with canonical links.
Angela Bayiates, Guidance.com, showed us how to drive revenue with social media. Social media generated sales are expected to grow ca. 93% a year to reach $14 billion by 2015. More to learn and more features and tools will be coming online. This won't be the last discussion on social media for Magento users!
Her presentation included a very concise toolkit: SIX Ways to Add Value.
Tal Achituv, Compugician.com, discussed arcane ways to use Google Analytics tools to gain more insight and manage your site more effectively.
NEXT MEETING: Monday, May 7
177 Huntington Ave - Suite 1300
Boston, MA 02115
We will be moving from the suburbs to the city through the summer months. One Pica has generously offered the use of their great office space. It is located near the green and red lines, close to Symphony Hall and the intersection of Huntington Ave. and Mass. Ave. We know the ambiance is cutting edge and suspect that the snacks will be significantly improved.
One main topic for next meeting will be a rehash of the Magento conference held in Las Vegas in late April. We will hear directly from the participants, who have promised to take careful notes, about Magento's expansion plans, integration with EBay, prospects for new platform categories, etc. If you can't make it to Vegas, this is the next best thing.
Big thanks to the Ashley team! Molloy and Lojiko are planning to develop a New England Magento knowledge base that will include the presentations we've seen so far so stay tuned.
