The hiking Meetup group,(Fellowship of the Tortoise) does easier, slower paced hikes than this group. Our goal is to stay fit while enjoying the camaraderie of hikers who have similar skills and goals. If you click on the PAGES button on the home page, there is a Summer Hiking Gear List. Well, I'd like to meet around 6 AM at the park and ride. Only potential fly in the ointment is the weather. Still looks like a strong cold front with showers and thunderstorms Saturday...followed by a building surface high and drier less humid weather for Sunday. The best case scenario for Saturday would be the upper ridge weakening sooner rather than later. That would get the front through early enough for a nice day Saturday. At this point, it could still happen.

Looking forward to this steep climb---I was orginally scheduled for a 3 peak presidential traverse ;but after some deep reflection I decided I am closer to 50 then 40, and do not want to get injured with a quick pace advanced climb, so I am hoping all in the over 50 group will welcome me again to hike 1 peak up Jefferson with this all of you friendly hikers :)
