OK I put some quick, incomplete, ideas in a Google doc. Feel free to add your own ideas to it. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DZP7MGeFV4TLb5W8JqziTDfZb6s-KMtM-T6qgleXy9U/edit?usp=sharing

Dan, I've got hold of two so far!

So the install has gotten moved to July 31 - August 10 which gives more time since we are only now notifying and getting specific on what's to be included. We will have another planning session this Saturday from 3-6pm (drop-in window, not necessary to stay the whole time, though you can!)

Do we have an email list or something? It feels like there's a better way to communicate other than meetup comments.

We've set up a Google Group but email's always good: artsinterstices at gmail dot com

Hi all, Brian and I met the other day and went over the submissions and ideas. This is going to be a great show!! You'll get notice about all the dates and the process very soon. For now, consider yourselves IN! and do sign up for the Opening Reception meetup. MANY THANKS

(GAH meetup your comment box sucks.) Do you have any advice for making prints of these?

    Few things:

    1. Is this a good central location for our conversations, or should we link up in another way. Email?

    2. Possible problem for me - I expect to be out of town the weekend of July 20, when setup is set to begin (but only for about three days). If this nullifies my participation, let me know.

    3. At this point I think what I have to offer is some printed stills (see my flickr.com/dangries for examples) or evolving graphics. The latter would require monitors or projection that I don't own personally. I can show you examples of evolving graphics, based on stuff at my site (rectangleworld.com). Maybe I'll put some links in the meeting notes google doc.

Ok great. The notes document is rather full, so I'm putting together some ideas specific to the installation in a separate document which I will share later.

+1 to monitors or projectors: most of my work is animated, and it's best when it's interactive. A webcam above the monitor, trained on the viewer, will be a huge help.

Thought: we should make all, or much, of the source code open. Each exhibit could have a Github url (maybe as qr code). The show could then serve as a learning device, and a springboard for other artists.

Was a pleasure meeting everyone! For the coders, here's something interesting that I don't have time to look at at the moment. http://rednoise.org/rita/index.html

And very curious what reference points you bring - please feel free to post any links you find relevant to the topic of art based on code. No pressure or expectation, just an invitation to share. See you Friday!

Hi, by way of prep for our meeting it would be great if people want to take a look at this essay called Toward an Ethic of Improvisation by experimental musician Cornelius Cardew. I will be referencing it a lot in my approach to co-curating this exhibition. http://www.ubu.com/papers/cardew_ethics.html
