Stress & The Body

Stress & The Body
Tuesdays from 6-7:15 PM

Join us for the second session on July 9:
Stress & Psychological Health!

Course Description
Our bodies seek homeostasis, the state where there is an ideal blood pressure, temperature, level of glucose in the bloodstream, and so on. A stressor can be defined as anything in the outside world that disrupts this homeostatic balance.

In Stress & The Body, you learn the nuts & bolts of understanding chronic stress, and especially its effects on us within modern society. You will also learn greater awareness & relaxation techniques as well as practical ways to de-stress the body through movement and breath.

The course then examines what it is that makes psychological stress stressful, and its relevance to depression, anxiety, and addiction. We will also examine the role of personality differences in explaining why some individuals cope with stress better than others.

There will also be an overview of stress management and more optimistic signs that point us in the right direction toward less stress and more enjoyment in our lives!

great group, great discussion. I was a bit distracted today, however the exercises were great! I'm realizing my flexibility isn't as awesome as I remember, so I now have two goals: less stress + more exercise!

Hello - I really need this! I missed the first one (I had not seen it). Can I bring $15 when I come tomorrow and is it $15 each or for all?
