Wed 8/28 - See award-winning short films, 1 by an NHCer, & starring an NHCer

Come see 12 award-winning short films at the Bijou Theater in Bridgeport!

One of them was produced/written/directed by NHC member Diane, and one of Diane's lead actors is me (Jason).  We won't know what award was won until Wed night.

I'm sure some of us will be hanging-out after the films.  If you want to sit together, come early.  I won't be able to save seats for all my friends, Meetup-ers, etc.

TIME: Doors open at 6, event starts at 7pm.  I'll go for my seat at least by 6:30.  Films will start between 7 & 7:30, and to see all 12 will take about 1.5hrs.  Awards after the screening I think.

TICKETS: $10.  You may want to buy in advance, I don't know if it will sell-out.

ABOUT THE FILMS: These are part of New Haven's 48 Hour Film Contest.  The 48 Hour Film Contest is an annual, worldwide contest.  This year New Haven had 34 films (already shown in New Haven), 12 of them won awards, you will see all 12 Wed night.

In a 48 Hour Film Contest, the filmmakers randomly draw a genre out of a hat, are assigned some random script elements (required prop, character, & line of dialog), then have 48 hours to write it, shoot it, edit it, and turn it in.

You will see some very creative, entertaining films, fueled by caffeine, adrenaline, stress, & sleep deprivation.  Most of them will likely have a few flaws at times...a shot that's too dark or out of focus, screwed-up sound, etc.

HOST: Jason, cell #[masked]-4957.  Texting is fine too
