Happy Hour (3/31) - ZAFRA!

Welcome to the Monday Happy Hours series!

This event is open to all, especially those who hate Mondays and especially for those who want to check out the different bar scenes in New Haven.

Monday 3/31/2014 week's location is:

Zafra: Cuban Restaurant and Rum Bar

Zafra is an Awesome Rum bar in downtown New Haven.  Located on Orange Street 2nd building down from the intersection with Elm, (Next to Christy's) this restaurant brings excellent competition to the Cuban cuisine in New Haven.  The food portions have been generous, and the various Rum based drinks are Delicious. (My personal favorites here are the "Release the Kraken" and "La Zafra" cocktails.) They have a selection of Over 100 Rums to chose from!

The Owner (Dominick) has generously offered us the following specials:

$5 Mojito's (a few flavored ones also available)

$8 Cruzan Martini

$5 Sangria

A.J. will host and can be reached at[masked]-9348.

Please RSVP for this event when able to give Dominick a heads up.

Parking - There are a couple lots in the same block.  One is ProPark and another is unmarked, and rumor (at your own risk) is no one checks after 5 pm.  There is also street parking up Orange and some surrounding streets (feed meters until 9pm, no limit after 5).  AJ always recommends Yale lot 51 on Temple between Orange and Elm (next to the music school, across and down a little from the library) after 5, though it's a couple blocks walk.

For Happy Hour Type Events if you're only a Maybe please put this in your comment.

Come early, come late, leave early, stay late, everyone is always welcome...

Hope to see you all there.

Hi Jim - The last time I was there the entry way is pretty level so one can probably get in, however I caution that this location does not have a lot of open pathways, and uses mostly high top tables/chairs so it might prove difficult to navigate one. I do hope you find future meetups you'll be able to enjoy.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
