It's the Annual International "48 Hour Film" Contest, in New Haven. I'm in one of them, come vote for it!
Also, I MAY setup a meet before-hand (5pm Russian Lady?)...if you'd be interested, post in the comments.
In a 48 Hour Film Contest, Friday night teams randomly drew film genres out of a hat, are assigned a few "required elements" (a prop, line of dialog, character), then have 48 hours to write, shoot, and finish a short film (5-8 minutes long).
As you can imagine, it's chaotic, with a lot of scripts "finished" at 3am Sat morning (& then re-written more on Sat.). And then executed by cast & crew operating on time-pressure stress, adrenaline, and caffeine. You will see some pretty creative films, inspired films, funny films...you will also see unfinished films, films that make no sense (or only partial sense), and films with huge errors in them.
I'm in the film "Plastic Love" by Team BRAAAINS.
TICKETS: There are 2 blocks of shorts that night, about 10 shorts in each group. Group A (the one I'm in) is from 7pm to about 9pm, then a break, then Group B at 9:30pm. I'll only be attending Group A. $11 for 1 group, or $20 for both groups. Although some tickets ought to be available at the door, these things can sell out. To buy in advance:
HOST: Jason (cell # in RSVP)
