Open Mic Night at Outer Space

This meetup now needs a host due to difficult circumstances. If you are willing to fill that roll, please contact AJ to update the event posting.

Join NHCer Andrew for Open Mic Night on Wednesday Night! You can reach him by text at[masked]-9988.

The Outer Space is a 21+, 79 capacity, café, listening room and lounge. There is a beautiful 1920s style bar room that serves over 80 varieties of Top Shelf and Local beers.

Come check out their weekly Open Mic Night at The Outer Space. Anyone can sign up to do anything from playing music to reading poetry. Sign-ups start at 7:00 PM.

At 8:30 the main feature comes on. One is acoustic, one is electric. One likes peanut butter, one likes chocolate. Okay, they both like chocolate. One is 5’6”, one is 6’5”. Together they write and play songs.

SWEET TALK RADIO is the husband and wife team of Kathrin Shorr & Tim Burlingame. This dynamic duo, based in Los Angeles, draws on the combination of Shorr’s captivating vocals and Burlingame’s lyrical guitar. Their music has earned them recurring spots on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart and the ears of music.

Howdy. I showed up this evening (Nov 14) and there was a music open mic. Paid a three-dollar cover. Didn't see any writers. Was the poetry open mic upstairs at The Space?

Nope it's all together. Music is more prominent and it really just depends on the night and who signs up.

    Hi all,

Due to the snow storm last week the trivia event that I was hosting a meetup for was delayed until this week. It's the last week of a 5 week cumulative series so I want to make sure something is organized for those that have been attending the past four weeks. Would anyone be interested in hosting this event in my place?

Some years ago, I visited a nursing home in Fairfield and sat with a group of residents, diagnosed with dementia. I was inspired to write a poem about Alzheimers, calling it In The Eye of the Storm. The poem reflects on one's awareness, the moment you question- then realize, notice that you are "losing it" and what that does to your psyche. I hope to read it next week. Let me know what you think!

Trivia will still continue as it does every week but I am not posting an event for it. I'll do trivia again but probably not until December.
